I had never planned on breeding Longhairs, but , after finishing my first champion Smooth, CH Rose Farms Choo Choo, Dee called me up and offered me this bitch  as a ‘celebration’ (actually , she was stuck with this pet with a big old knot in her tail!!.). Never one to refuse Mrs Hutchinson, I dutifully went to the Airport and picked her up and as soon as I looked into that beautiful face, I knew that I was interested in this Variety!

Everyone asks about Lardi, and she was really an outstanding bitch, but that tail precluded her from being shown. She had an absolutely beautiful head and expression, lots of coat, beautifully set under herself with the short hocks of her grandfather, Ulyssis. In fact, she seemed to be a combination of her great uncle Wiggles (Rolls Royce) and Ulyssis. Typewise, she was very Wiggles, but with the soundness and body of Ulyssis. Her father traced back to Tartare in every line of his pedigree and that locked in her producing abilities, I believe.

We bred her to two different type dogs, Java and Gerolf, and then those bitches (and her niece, Country Girl’s daughters) were bred to PJ–when he came along- and that is the cross that made Boondox successful. Every LH I have owned since traces back to Lardi and/or Country Girl (Pammy) and usually both!
