CH Badger Hill New Deal was one of three AKC Champions that the great show Dachsund, CH Derbydachs Schatze (who was the BV and BB winner at the ’51 DCA Specialty) whelped in the early ’50s. CH Badger Hill Nobby was another top sire fromthat litter that was used by the Shultis family of Gera Kennel and Woodie Dorward who just went to California from his original Illinois home with Nobby being one of his Dachshunds. Nobby, like Basil, was used to maintain type and health. Their other brother CH Badger Hill Nox also finished easily, but was not used much as a Stud dog. Anyway, New Deal and Nobby really did well in the production end and New Deal even sired the great longhair, CH Guyman’s Long Deal who also was a DCA BV winner too. Nobby and New Deal with their great background really left a mark on the Breed
