Many Native American peoples had two words to describe the dead. One word for those who had died- but still had someone living who remembered them, and another word for those who have died and no living person was left who remembered them.
Our goal at TDHP is to keep all the Dachshund Greats-both dogs and people- in the first category!
There are those of us, foolish purists that we are, who see a given breed one way and one way only. We struggle to reproduce that ideal as consistently as possible. It goes without saying this is a very old fashioned and very arduous way of breeding dogs. But then, all the good lines I have ever known have been developed in this old fashioned way – through hard work, persistence and an unswerving dedication to a clearly envisioned goal.

As I was entering the pictures that John Hart and Charles Baris of Barhar Dachshunds so generously sent in, I managed to find more Qualitative Qualifiers for CH Kemper Dachs Bad Habits ROMX so that I am able to apply for his ROMO. It is gratifying to be able to help recognize the achievements of these great dogs who are no longer here! So, congratulations to Timmy, CH Kemper Dachs Bad Habits ROMO (Pending)!

After having sent 20 + more ROMs to them last night, we would be remiss in not thanking Bob and Ann Wlodkowski (the DCA ROM committee) for really pitching in and processing the over 300 dogs we have added to the ROM program in such a timely manner!
We didn’t imagine we would be adding so many and I am sure that they didn’t either!!
